Actions Κ.Ε.ΔΙ.ΒΙ.Μ.

The main axes of action of the Center for Training and Lifelong Learning of the Hellenic Open University (HOU) are as follows:

  1. Development of Training, Education, and Lifelong Learning Programs, as well as Training Seminars. This activity includes a) Training and certification programs to enhance the knowledge and skills of participants, b) Updating and deepening the knowledge of tertiary education graduates in specific scientific subjects, c) Broadening the knowledge of tertiary education graduates in subjects outside their field, especially of interdisciplinary interest, d) Training for the general adult population, and e) Professional training for employees of private businesses and organizations.
  2. Development of Distance Education and Training Programs. This activity involves a) Developing infrastructure, processes, and evaluation methods for distance education, b) Developing programs and specializations in demand by professionals, citizens, and the business sector, c) Establishing collaborations with other entities in the provision of distance education and training programs.
  3. Development of Educational Material. The Center develops educational material used in the programs it implements. It may also provide or create standard material for third parties after approval by the competent authorities.
  4. Signing Program Agreements with Regions, Municipalities, Educational and Professional Bodies, Non-Profit Organizations, as well as other Public and Private Entities. These agreements may include a) Needs assessment studies regarding training, professional development, and adult education, b) Implementation of educational programs, c) Writing educational material, d) Support for structures and provision of counseling and professional orientation services, e) Family counseling, f) Intercultural education, and support programs for socially vulnerable population groups.
  5. Participation in Training Actions for Business Personnel and Structural Adjustment. Involves professional training and development actions for employees of businesses, as well as businesses implementing restructuring plans.
  6. Support Actions for the Development of Social Economy. Includes counseling support, preparation of studies and business plans, and professional training in the field of social economy.
  7. Certification of Qualifications. Utilizing the possibilities offered by the development of a qualification certification system.
